Van Cleef & Arpels – the fairytale

C’era una volta una favola, un posto in cui gli uomini romantici si apprestavano ad acquistare per la propria amata un gioiello, simbolo di conquista e sigillo di un amore eterno. Una creazione unica, capace di suscitare emozioni indescrivibili, legate non al valore dell’oggetto in sè, ma alla sua disarmante bellezza. Si, perchè le creazioni di Alfred Van Cleef e Salomon Arpels, che nel 1896 fondarono la celebre gioielleria nel cuore di Parigi al numero 2 di PlaceVendome, non sono gioielli, ma veri e propri capolavori. I materiali più pregiati  mai conosciuti si fondono alla maestria di chi li realizza per dare vita a creature fiabesche, celebrando la grandezza della natura nella sua perfezione assoluta. Colori, forme, geometrie che richiamano il regno animale, quello celeste e quello suggerito dalla fantasia dell’ingegno umano. Tutto è perfetto in queste sculture, a dire il vero più belle da contemplare che da indossare. Perchè? Semplice. Indossandole non ci si può non incantare dinnanzi a tanta eccellenza,  gioire del proprio stupore di fronte ad una tale armonia. Eppure, forse avete ragione, non sarebbe neanche tanto male, in un sogno, lasciare che siano gli altri a farlo…

Once upon a time, there was once a fairy tale, a romantic place where men  buyed a jewel for his beloved, a symbol of conquest and seal of everlasting love. A unique creation, capable of arousing indescribable emotions,not related to the value of the object in itself, but for his disarming beauty. Yes, because Alfred Van Cleef and Salomon Arpels creations (wich in 1896 founded the famous jewelry in Paris, Place Vendome 2) are not simple gems, but real masterpieces. The finest materials known to masterfully blend of who carries them out to create mythical creatures, celebrating the grandeur of nature in her perfection. Colors and shapes that recall the animal kingdom, the celestial and the one suggested by the imagination of the human mind. Everything is perfect in these sculptures, maybe most beautiful to behold than to wear. Why? Simple. Wearing it means to can’t be enchanted from this excellence, cant’ enjoy himself about this harmony. And yet, perhaps you’re right, it would not be so bad either, in a dream, let people observe them…
